Relax while you enjoy the 1 hour & 30 min ride to Rome in comfort and air-conditioning to begin your tour with your local licensed English-speaking guide*  at one of Rome’s most iconic landmarks, the Colosseum.

The Colosseum

Your expert guide will give you the full history of the world’s most infamous amphitheater and show you the best vantage points to get that amazing photo.

En Route

In Rome, the stops are only half the attraction. You proceed through Ancient Rome on Via Fori Imperiali, along the Roman Forum, the Markets of Trajen, and Piazza Venezia, where your guide brings these ancient sites to life, while modern life buzzes around you.

The Pantheon

Here you be given the opportunity to explore a two-thousand-year-old temple in pristine condition and learn it’s fascinating multi-layered history.

En Route – Trevi Fountain & Spanish Steps

Taking time to marvel at two of Rome’s most photographed sites, you will be able to toss a coin in the Trevi, the most extravagant fountain in Italy!  Tossing one coin ensures you will return to Rome, two coins ensures a new romance and three coins means marriage is on the horizon. It’s a cheap visit for those already in a relationship!

Then, time permitting,  you may have the chance to climb the biggest staircase in Europe, the Spanish Steps. With 135 beautiful sweeping steps, you will be forgiven if you just take in the view from the bottom!

Vatican Museums

After lunch, we head across town to the smallest, yet most remarkable country in the world and a major world tourist attraction, Vatican City. Our customers skip the hours-long line and head straight into one of the world’s most remarkable museums. This pathway to the Sistine Chapel is laden with breath-taking art, collected and commissioned by the Popes over the centuries, spanning from the BC era (The Belvedere Torso) to the twentieth century (Pomodoro’s Sphere Within a Sphere).

Sistine Chapel

This is what every visitor to Rome wants to see.  As you stare at the glory of Michelangelo’s fresco it is hard not to be overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of one of the most iconic image of all time.  While the ceiling is the crowning glory, the walls are covered with the works of so many Renaissance masters, it is hard to know where to look.

St Peter’s Basilica

Avoiding the crowds once again, CBM takes you through a passageway reserved for tour guides that links the Sistine Chapel to the biggest church in the world, St Peter’s Basilica.  Your guide will be on hand to give you the history of the church as you marvel at the stunning architecture, adorned with yet more work by the greatest artists of the sixteenth century.

Your mind officially blown!

The tour concludes usually at 4:00 pm. Your English Speaking driver will escort you all the way back to your ship well in time for departure as you gaze out the window through the winding streets and soak up your last sites of the Eternal City.

Upon return to Civitavecchia, you will be dropped off directly to your ship, arriving by 5.30 pm.
